About the design and making process

The collection is minimal yet tactile, made to be comfortable in use and used everyday.

Pieces are thrown on the wheel, using a stoneware clay, dried overnight before being turned and finished.

Before firing, pieces are decorated with a coloured slip and then finished with a clear glaze.

Location is everything

The 9 Yard Ceramics studio is located in the visually stunning area of Louisburgh, Co.Mayo, half way between Clare Island and Croagh Patrick with beautiful views of both.
